Bilateral partnership between India and Guyana to pioneer tech-driven infrastructure

Recently, the Republic of India celebrated its 73rd. Republic Anniversary at the Atlantic Ballroom, Pegasus Suites. In celebration of this significant event, His Excellency President Dr. Irfaan Ali emphasised that bilateral relations with India foresee the growth and development of citizens to which Guyana shares great cultural and technological synergy. According to His Excellency, “This is no secret. This is a policy position of the Government, and I’m very pleased with the discussions we had at the highest level and their (India’s) overall deep interest in being a part of the entire ecosystem of our energy sector. Not just buying our crude, no. The discussions were not that narrow. The discussions were comprehensive and covered the entire ecosystem in relation to oil and gas.” In this respect, it was commended that India has a wealth of marvellous technology to which the nation has artistically transformed raw materials into value-added commodities, and is of the utmost willingness to build Guyana’s regional Agri-tech campus to support the regional food hub. This innovation is aimed at developing a climate-smart approach to agroprocessing, “We are building a food production and agricultural system on a platform that will make it competitive, resilient to operate in an economy 2030 and beyond,” said His Excellency. This comes at a time where the national economy peaks as a result of the transformative energy and energy-related industries, where Guyana aims to be a producer of sustainable, alternative energy.
